Raul T. Meoz, M.D., FACR

Radiation Oncologist – Board Certified

In 2001, Dr. Meoz was awarded fellowship with the American College of Radiology. He is a member of the adjunct faculty at the University of Nevada School of Medicine and Touro University. He is currently the Medical Director for the Las Vegas CyberKnife at Summerlin.

EDUCATION:

Dr. Meoz received his medical degree from the University of Zulia, Venezuela in 1971 and completed a full three-year residency in therapeutic radiology at Baylor College of Medicine, Houston, Texas. He went on to MD Anderson Hospital and Tumor Institute as project investigator for two years. Dr. Meoz received the American Cancer Society Research Fellowship Award while a resident at Baylor College of Medicine in 1974.

Although Dr. Meoz holds lifetime board certification in Radiation Oncology, he has voluntarily enrolled in the American Board of Radiology’s Maintenance of Certification Program and is currently re-certified in Radiation Oncology.

EXPERIENCE

Dr. Meoz joined Nevada Radiation Oncology Centers in 1985, which became Comprehensive Cancer Centers of Nevada (CCCN) in 2002. He is currently an Adjunct Associate Professor of Radiation Oncology at Touro University and Clinical Associate Professor of Internal Medicine at University of Nevada School of Medicine. Dr. Meoz serves on the Board of Trustees for Southern Hills Hospital.

He has authored and co-authored numerous scientific papers and has been a speaker in several national and international conferences in the field of oncology and radiation therapy. He serves as Investigator in numerous clinical trials conducted at CCCN through the Community Clinical Oncology Program.

Prior to joining CCCN, he was Assistant Radiotherapist and Assistant Professor of Radiotherapy at the University of Texas MD Anderson Hospital and Tumor Institute from 1980 through 1983. He was in private practice in radiation oncology from September 1983 through August 1985 in Dallas, Texas; and Clinical Assistant Professor of Radiology with the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School, Dallas, Texas for the same period of time.

Dr. Meoz has received numerous awards and recognitions including: “Top Doctors” by Desert Companion, Las Vegas Life, Vegas Seven and Vegas, Inc., and “Medical Marvels” by Nevada Business Magazine. He was awarded a fellowship with the American College of Radiology in 2001.

PERSONAL

Born in Maracaibo, Venezuela, Dr. Meoz and his wife, Wendy, have two children, Benjamin and Katherine.
